South Dalmatia is the southernmost part of Croatia which stretches from Makarska riviera all the way down to the border with Montenegro. This region almost has no hinterland but has one of the most beautiful shorelines in Europe - grey coastal mountains are situated in the background of lush seaboard green ribbon of palms and olive trees while deep blue sea stretches as far as the eye can see.

When it comes to gastronomy of this region, its cuisine is like cuisine in other Dalmatian regions which means it is typical Mediterranean cuisine based on fresh products and lots of vegetables. Typical dessert of this area is rozata from Dubrovnik, it is a pudding-like dessert made with milk, eggs and sugar flavored with local liqueur Rozalin.
