Central Dalmatia

General information

Central Dalmatia is the region that covers the central part of Croatian coastal area. Geographically, it stretches from the Cape Planka in the northwest (2 km from Rogoznica) down to the Makarska Riviera including islands Brac, Hvar, Vis, Solta and many islets. This region is very versatile – mountains push up against the back of the region, lovely lakes stretch for miles mirroring the blue skies while the cities are full of excitement. Picturesque small towns built along the coast are rich in culture and have a lot to offer.
Central Dalmatia is an extremely popular destination, known for its stunning coastline, numerous islands that crave to be explored, spectacular white pebble beaches, hidden coves and centuries-old pine trees. On the coast the climate is Mediterranean characterized by hot and dry summers, relatively mild, rainy winters and extended periods of sunshine throughout most of the year, while further inland the climate is moderate Mediterranean.
